Argyle, a Jersey steer, was born on an organic dairy farm. As a male calf, he was considered not useful because he could not produce milk. Thus, he could not stay on a farm. Male calves in the dairy industry are sold and then raised for beef or veal. Luckily, for Argyle, the farmer saw his amazing spirit and kind personality and contacted Sweet Farm to give him a forever home.

Now, safe from the threat of the meat industry, he spends his days grazing in our pastures. He has become best buddies with Gizmo, our miniature Hereford steer and has also taken on the role of being big brother to Magnolia, who was rescued as a calf.
