Sponsor Piggy Sue & Piggy Smalls
Piggy Sue and Piggy Smalls found a home at Sweet Farm when the pigs helped close a backyard breeding location a few hours south of Sweet Farm. A young man wanted to raise 12 mangalitsas in his backyard to be sold later for slaughter. However, after noticing how similar their personalities were to their beloved dogs, and just how smart and loving they were, his family quickly fell in love with the piglets. They soon were able to convince the father of the family to not slaughter them.
The family also realized how over their heads they were in needing to find homes for their newfound pets. They reached out to Sweet Farm for help. We assisted in finding forever homes for all 12 mangalitsas, also known as Hungarian Wooly pigs, and were able to keep Piggy Sue and Piggy Smalls to live out their forever lives in our pastures. They now spend their days roaming the woods, mud bathing, and rooting around with their numerous pig friends.
