Mushroom-lovers and funghi fanatics, get excited! This hands on workshop led by Steve Sierigk of Hawk Meadow Farm will explore techniques for growing wood decaying mushrooms, such as Shiitake and Lion's Mane, on natural logs in an outdoor setting. We will cover log selection, strain selection, inoculation techniques and log management strategies. These methods mimic nature so they produce the highest quality mushrooms. This class is appropriate for those interested in incorporating these mushrooms into your landscape as a form of gardening but we will discuss larger management techniques, too.
