Sponsor Vesta
Vesta became very sick shortly after birth, but since she was a commodity on a wool farm, the plan was simply to leave her in a field to die rather than provide her with medical care - a sadly common theme on production farms.
A good samaritan learned of Vesta's intended fate and asked the farm if she could take the newborn lamb. Thankfully they agreed, and she was able to nurse Vesta back to health, but she quickly outgrew the woman's small apartment. She reached out to a local animal sanctuary who accepted Vesta, although it took her a long time to bond with her fellow sheep since she had been only with humans since birth.
Vesta came to Sweet Farm in 2024 with Zulu and Khalil after the sanctuary who had accepted her had to downsize drastically and rehome most of their animals. She and Martin quickly bonded and it has been a joy to witness.
